Evelyn Luna was born and raised in New York City where her understanding of design developed at a very young age. Her
keen sense of color she attributes to summers spent in the tropical landscape of the Dominican Republic
She began her studies at the high school of Art and Design
and after graduating continued her education at New York’s Parsons School of Design.
Evelyn Luna has worked simultaneously as a women's fashion
designer and a textile artist throughout her career in the
New York fashion industry.
For 13 years she was a member of Diane Von Furstenberg’s original design staff. Ms. Luna subsequently became Director
of DVF’s textile department as well. While serving in this dual
role she was developing everything from women’s sportswear, contemporary dresses, swimwear lingerie, accessories and
DVF’s “Silk Assets” Sportswear line for the Home Shopping Network.
She ventured on to become Textile Product Manager at
Victoria’s Secret lingerie and sleep wear. Her experience with
her staff there gave her the insight she needed to start her
own business. Before long, Evelyn began consulting for
Victoria’s Secret’s swimwear department and for other
designers in the industry under the name E.L. Consulting Inc.
Ms. Luna is presently designing her own collection of men and
women’s lifestyle and leisure apparel along with her business partner, industrial designer, Scott Chester. Together they
founded ‘The Hydro-Ion Partners Inc’ under which they’ve developed a men’s line, “ACID” and a women’s line “LUNA ALKALI”. Both lines encompass modern design, comfortand
the versatility to adapt to a contemporary, dynamic way of life.
